YA Club at Doyle Library Features Free Books

On Thursday, October 3, at 3:30 pm, Doyle Library will feature it’s Young Adult Media Club meeting featuring the book and movie, “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”.

 

As a special incentive to increase attendance and participation, Doyle Library is giving away the book, “DOGMAN, Brawl of the Wild” to a lucky attendee, ages 10-16.

Every third Thursday of the month, Doyle Library shows a free movie and snacks to all YA participants.  “We also give away free books after the movie, so everyone leaves this special event with a free book,” according to Library Director Deb Young.

YA MEDIA CLUB

Wonderful Fun during Summer Fun Hour!

Many more wonderful events will be featured at Doyle Public Library!

On Tuesday, July 23, at 1 pm, we will study weather conditions and explore, "How Clouds Make Rain!"  We will also be decorating our Slime.  We feature wonderful stories, reading rewards and lots of fun activities!

On Wednesday, July 24, at 1 pm, Doyle Library will feature, "4-H Honeybee Challenge" provided by the Illinois University Extension office for the 4-H!  We will learn about the importance of pollinators in our daily lives!  We will also be making a Honeybee Robot!  This activity is for ages 7 and up.  Participants will learn about pollinators, specifically honeybees and explore how and why they pollinate through a hands-on activity.

On Tuesday, July 30, at 1 pm, Doyle Library will feature Games and Picnic at the Library, as we wrap up our Summer Fun series for another summer!

On Thursday, August 1, at 3:30 pm, Doyle Library will feature the movie, "Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" for all our young adult attendees!

Exciting Times at Doyle Library

“This month we showcased Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone with scores of young people in attendance each month,” according to Young.  “We would like to invite all young people to enjoy popcorn and snacks at the movies each month on the first Thursday at 3:30 pm.”

Harry Potter Viewing—Elena, Caleb, Elsa, Audrey, Mallory, Karsun, Klaytun, Lyla and Hannah enjoy the latest movie at Doyle Library, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.  The next movie on Tuesday, July 11 will be the Merry Adventures of Robin Hood at 3:30 pm.

Summer Fun Hour

More than 80 children, young adults and adults have been enjoying Excitement, Knowledge and Good Times at Doyle Library throughout this first week of June.  “We had many children of all ages for our Summer Fun events which are held every Tuesday throughout the summer at 1 pm,” according to Library Director Deb Young.

Summer Fun June 4—(l-r) Wyatt, Halle, Grant, Mallory, Carly, Clara, Grace and Sarah with babies are learning about our American Flag and creating patriotic crafts during Summer Fun Hour on June 4.  The next Summer Fun Craft Creation session will be held on Tuesday, June 11, at 1 pm, Colorful Wind Chimes and other nature crafts.  On June 18, at 1 pm, Doyle Library participants will create Yellow Submarine Craft Kits!
