All Panhandle School District students are welcome to check out books with a free library membership card!

Doyle Library has added a large number of fiction and non-fiction titles for Young Adults:  Artificial Intelligence, Agricultural Technology, Nanotechnology, Free Speech, Vaccination Debate, Ebola Outbreak, US-Cuba Relations, ISIS, World War II topics and much, much more!  Check us out!

Doyle Library staff members are working diligently to ensure our community’s needs are met today and well into the future, with a wide variety of special events and important resources for all ages.

Upcoming events include Teen Media Club on Wednesday, January 18, beginning at 6:30 pm; Book Club on Monday, January 9, beginning at 5 pm, and Story Hour STEAM Stars on Saturday, January 21, beginning at 10 am.

During Teen Media Club we will award free raffle tickets to all who attend to be entered into our drawing for a FREE Kindle Fire!  We will also discuss how attendees would like to proceed with the club.  Do you want to watch movies?  Discuss media? Just get together on a regular basis?  We hope you can make it on Wednesday, January 18, beginning at 6:30 pm.

Story Hour STEAM Stars

Our next Story Hour STEAM Stars will be held on Saturday, December 17 from 10-11 am.  

We will be making several colorful tree ornaments with the student's picture to give to family and friends.  

We are taking pictures at the library or the child may bring his or her own pictures to create their own personalized ornaments.

(l-r, back row)Troop Leader Becky Haustein, Joe Falter, Josua Haustein, (l-r, front row) Bryron Hudgins, Noah Snow, Isaac Wagahoff, and Austyn Hefley recently visited Doyle Public Library and provided many ideas for new books that the library can provide for young people, including  Cub Scout Pack 77 of Raymond/Panhandle District. The troop members will be visiting the Springfield JR Blues for a hockey game! They  will have a pinewood derby in February and be family camping in late April/May. Interested in scouting adventures? Doyle Library staff members prepare games and fun activities for the families who will be visiting the library for our Family Fun Night on Wednesday, November 16, from 3-8 pm.  

Doyle Library Family Fun Night

 We encourage all family members and family groups to attend our special events at the library or just stop by for a visit.  This month, the State of Illinois is featuring a Family Reading Night, which we have extended to include games for the whole family!   On Wednesday, November 16, from 3-8 pm, Doyle Library is hosting its annual Family Fun Night, with lots of board games, puzzles, food, prizes and other cool activities for all ages.  Included in the games are Apples to Apples, Beat the Parents, Candyland and many, many classic games, as well as crafts, fun activities, prizes and refreshments.  We are really looking forward to this event to bring community members together and provide a lively time for our young people of all ages!
